Updates to Font Explorer X Pro
Monotype Imaging has updated its font manager for the desktop and servers. The new versions are FontExplorer X Pro 3.1 for Macintosh, 2.3 for Windows and FontExplorer X Server 1.6.
FontExplorer X Pro 3.1 can now run in Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion). The update also includes support for a full-screen mode and introduces a plug-in for Adobe InCopy CS5.5, and new Mac plug-ins for Adobe InDesign, llustrator, and Photoshop.
On the Windows side, FontExplorer X Pro 2.3 includes the InCopy, InDesign, llustrator, and Photoshop plug-ins, plus user interface enhancements.
The FontExplorer X Server now supports such LDAP functions as multiple domains, nested groups, and the ability to monitor active or open directory groups for user changes. Version 1.6 also lets network admins disconnect users from the server and prevent server updates.
If you bought FontExplorer X after January 1, 2011, these upgrades are free. If you have a valid copy of any 2.x version, upgrades cost $29. To buy it new, you’ll need $79.
