Letter from the Editor
Pam Sparks is a graphic design superhero. I know this because like all superheroes she is capable of amazing feats, and she has an alter ego. When she’s not designing CreativePro Magazine, Pam spends a lot of her time designing emails. And in this month’s feature article, she defines a process for building great email templates, which are one of the key components of an efficient and effective marketing workflow for any business.
Next, we turn the spotlight on ourselves for a look at our new CreativePro branding. See that nifty new logo at the top right of this page? You might also have noticed the new logotype on the cover of this issue. They’re both products of the process described in detail in the article, authored by branding consulting Nicte Cuevas and CreativePro president David Blatner. In the coming months, you’ll see more changes as we settle into the new look and bring all of CreativePro’s offerings in line to reflect the company’s values and mission with a fresh, consistent look.
Then we go from high-level concepts down to the nitty gritty. And if you’ve ever worked with complex tables in InDesign, you know just how gritty that process can be. Keith Gilbert reviews Table Tools, a set of commercial scripts that fill in many gaps where InDesign’s table features fall short of what you need.
Erica Gamet serves up another collection of awesome tips and tricks you don’t want to miss.
The Resource of the Month is Volume 2 of the CreativePro Font Collection. It’s a wonderfully diverse set of high-quality fonts you can start using right away.
In the articles curated from our website you’ll learn about making abstract line art in Illustrator, adding dates to calendars efficiently, using Illustrator artboards for versioned content, and maximizing your speed in Photoshop by combining scripts and keyboard shortcuts.
Enjoy!
