This standalone script also works with the Book Panel Extras interface.

When you synchronise book files, footnote options are ignored. The script remedies that. To use the script, open a book (one book only) and select the style source in the usual way.

First synchronise the book files as usual, making sure that you include paragraph and character styles and swatches. Then run the script. It has no interface.

It is advisable to copy the book files to a safe place or to zip them before you run the script.

Note: This script works more or less the same as Jongware’s footnote copier. The main difference is that J.’s script doesn’t work against a book.

Version history

27 Dec. 2025: Added a check that there’s just one book file open.
