David BlatnerKeymasterYou could use a GREP Style, with an expression like
\d+?%

David BlatnerKeymasterJust to confirm… are you using in5 to export HTML? Or using Publish Online?

David BlatnerKeymasterThere are a couple of scripts that can replace text with an anchored image, such as:
and

orYou might also be able to do this with Data Merge.
David BlatnerKeymasterObject styles would be a great start.
There are some other tricks for making text more flexible when it moves from left to right hand pages, such as using the Align Away from Spine spine… but sometimes, it just requires manual cleanup.
David BlatnerKeymasterHere are a couple of posts about changing the pasteboard size:

David BlatnerKeymasterI never recommend people use Basic Paragraph style. As you have probably seen in other posts, it is not a good idea to use Basic, if you can avoid it. If you’re going to change to something, change to a new paragraph style (make one yourself, such as “StoreyBasic”)

David BlatnerKeymasterInDesign’s footnotes are not nearly as flexible or powerful as any of us would like. I don’t think there’s any way to do what you want automatically. There are external scripts and add-ons such as Footwork from id-extras.com and Peter Kahrel’s scripts here: https://creativepro.com/files/kahrel/indesign/footnotes.html
March 27, 2021 at 9:38 am in reply to: What is a client looking for when they ask for a Layout? #14337906
David BlatnerKeymasterThat’s weird… how can you do the InDesign layout before “getting into the stylistic stuff”? Typically, you’d do the design first, and then create the layout.
David BlatnerKeymasterIt’s pretty frustrating, to be honest. And ultimately we’re not really going to know the reality for another year or two. Like, will Type 1 literally stop working? Or will it work, but just not be “supported” officially?
You are absolutely right that an updated font may have different metrics and will therefore cause reflow.
One option is to convert the Type 1 font to OpenType with a tool such as the one Mike writes about here:
David BlatnerKeymasterCan you give us a few examples of what you’re trying to find? It sounds like things like “David Blatner ’88” — is that right?
You want to apply No Break, but then you say you don’t want the last name brought down or the number gets pulled up… isn’t that the whole point of no break? What would want it to do?
