David BlatnerKeymasterIs this still available? The dropbox link isn’t working any longer. Can you repost or email it to david@creativepro.com… or, Steve, if you have it, can you send it to me?
David BlatnerKeymasterThere are various ways to do that. You could use real paragraph numbering, for example.
You could put an “Indent to Here” character after the number and before the text (see the Type > Insert Special Characters menu)
Or you could use a positive left indent and negative first line left indent.
More info here:
David BlatnerKeymasterOuch… maybe this script?

David BlatnerKeymasterHi Masood! I know that Illustrator can be scripted, but I am not sure if there are any Adobe Illustrator (Ai) scripters here.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don’t even see the DTPutils web site anymore. They might be out of business?
I wonder if any of these links will help?

David BlatnerKeymasterYeah, that’s strange… I don’t think I’ve heard of that before. Definitely need more information to help.

David BlatnerKeymasterMichel, that is helpful when you want to change the arrow key on the keyboard. But I think it does not change the increment value in the panels. For example, if you select a frame and click the Up or Down arrow buttons for the X or Y field in the Control panel, it is not changed.

David BlatnerKeymasterAh! Sorry, I didn’t read your original post correctly.
I don’t think you can do this in InDesign, but you could use a script. I think this one might work: https://creativepro.com/topic/how-to-assign-shortcut-to-cursor-key-increments/October 19, 2022 at 7:04 am in reply to: Illustrator file, with a linked illustrator file within, and place into inDesign #14373785
David BlatnerKeymasterI’m no Illustrator expert, but I’m wondering if you need to EMBED the original AI file into the new AI file… not just have it linked.

David BlatnerKeymasterLook higher up in that dialog box. No parsecs but the Ruler Units will help. :-)

David BlatnerKeymasterHere’s another, perhaps simpler, method for converting text to outlines:
David BlatnerKeymasterAs for combining documents… hm… I see this old thread:
Collect individual files contained in a book in one .indd document
David BlatnerKeymasterUnfortunately, there is no way to set this up to update automatically with documents connected in a book panel. It only works within a single document:
However, if you had to do it, you could probably fake it using cross-references, which can work across documents. I’d have to think about how best to do that.
Here’s how to do it for a single doc:
