David BlatnerKeymasterI agree with Steve… editing scripts can be tricky! :-)
One thing to remember: always be sure to change curly quotes to straight quotes everywhere.I know that Keith Gilbert has written scripts to export PNG here: https://www.gilbertconsulting.com/scripts

David BlatnerKeymasterOoops! Sorry, Andrew. My mistake. You put a link in your post that really looked like you were spamming with commercial content. Good luck with your projects and learning!
David BlatnerKeymasterWell, it looks like Andrew may actually just be a spammer, based on his follow-up post (which we have removed). But his questions are actually really good ones!
We have a number of articles on our site about these kinds of topics, including:
and actually CreativePro Magazine issue 34 discusses this directly:
David BlatnerKeymasterJust reading this give me a stomach ache… While technically InDesign can “link” to Excel files, I’m just not sure how far I trust it — especially for huge Excel files. There are so many challenges when using linked Excel files, but the biggest one is that every change you make in InDesign is removed/deleted/forgotten when you click Update.
That said, if you have to do this, I wonder if using WordsFlow Pro from EmSoftware.com would be more reliable?
David BlatnerKeymasterMight be able to use a table? Here are two articles that discuss this:
and
David BlatnerKeymasterThat is a VERY weird design choice. (Feel free to tell your client I think so.) :-)
Yeah, I think you may have to do a “manually insert zero” kind of hack. If you had hundreds of these, it might be worth getting someone to write a script to do it.
The following article will likely not help, but I can’t help posting it just because it discusses the whole “zero” thing in a different way:
David BlatnerKeymaster1. No, unfortunately links and other interactive elements inside a PDF are lost when you place the PDF into an InDesign document. Yes, this is very frustrating.
2. That sounds really strange. If you quit InDesign and start it again, maybe it would clear the problem? Are they shared hyperlink destinations? They can be awful at times… see:

David BlatnerKeymasterDoes the Synchronize Options dialog box help? See this article, or this other thread below:
orUsing different colors for the same styles in chapters of a book
David BlatnerKeymasterIt sounds like you have the story title set to align to baseline grid. Turn it off for that paragraph, and turn it on for the first paragraph.
David BlatnerKeymasterI think you’ll find the “Use Custom Baseline” feature (which is in one of the articles I posted) works great.
David BlatnerKeymasterWhen you place a PDF, you can choose to view Show Import Options. In the Import Options dialog box, you can specify what gets placed. It may be that it’s set to Bounding Box instead of Media, for example:
