New Compact Camera from Leica
The new Leica V-Lux 3 is a digital camera with a versatility that belies its compact size. The 24x zoom lens is capable of focal lengths equivalent to 25–600 mm in 35 mm format. The newly developed 12.1-megapixel CMOS image sensor also promises to deliver high image quality. You can capture stills as fast as 12 frames per second at full resolution, or 60 frames per second at medium resolution. In addition to photos, you can shoot HD video at 1920 × 1080 pixels and 60 fps.
The Leica V-Lux 3 has a 3″ LCD that you can move up, down, and around, and a built-in stereo microphone. Other notable features are a two-year warranty and Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements software.
You can buy the camera starting in January 2012 for about $950.
