InDesign Tip: Constrain Unchained!
To force InDesign to constrain proportions when applying X and Y Scale % values in the Control panel, press Ctrl+Enter/Command+Enter. This way, you can leave both chains “broken” and only constrain proportions when you mean to via the keyboard shortcut.
Note: If you try the same thing with the W and H fields, it will work but it will also open the Quick Apply panel. Press Esc to close the panel.
