Camera Raw Update; PowerPC Support
There are two bits of recent news related to Adobe Camera Raw.
First, the Camera Raw 5.5 release candidate (which is not quite a final version) is now available for download on Adobe Labs.
Newly supported camera models include:
* Nikon D300s
* Nikon D3000
* Olympus E-P1
* Panasonic DMC-FZ35
Camera Raw 5.5 also includes a correction to the demosaic algorithms for Bayer sensor cameras with unequal green response.
Secondly, John Nack has noted in his blog that “Camera Raw updates will continue for all Photoshop CS4 customers during the CS4 life cycle,” including customers running Macs with the PowerPC architecture. The confusion seems to have arisen because Adobe announced that the next release of Adobe’s Creative Suite will support Macs with Intel architecture, but not PowerPC Macs.
