David BlatnerKeymasterI’m not sure what you mean by “which should reflect the main section.” Are you saying that the numbers in the Appendix section need to reflect back to numbering in the non-appendix sections?
David BlatnerKeymasterYou’ve probably already seen this, but just in case: https://indesignsecrets.com/multi-level-automatic-numbering-in-indesign.php
My guess is that you’ll need a new paragraph style for the Appendix, which includes the “A” in the number field.
David BlatnerKeymasterNested styles are a feature inside paragraph styles. You can learn about them here:

David BlatnerKeymasterWOW! So glad that helped.
David BlatnerKeymasterI have not seen anything like that, but it seems like it should be possible. You would need four options, yes? Snap to nearest left column guide; snap to nearest right column guide; snap to top margin; snap to bottom margin…

David BlatnerKeymasterHi Lucy! Long time no chat! :-)
Unfortunately, there is no way to add an arrowhead to a paragraph rule above or rule below — GREP won’t help (that’s just for text). You might want to add a comment and vote for this:

David BlatnerKeymasterOne of these articles might help (check the comments, too)… I wonder if this is the dreaded FEFF character?

David BlatnerKeymasterBonjour! Unfortunately, it is not possible to make “Story” (in English) or “Article” be the default in the Find/Change dialog box.
However, if you click inside a text story and open Find/Change, then change it to Article, it will remain — but only if you open Find/Change when the text cursor is inside a story!
David BlatnerKeymasterCustomized headers has been a challenge for many years. Harbs at In-Tools came up with an amazing solution, but it has not been updated (as far as I know) for the past several years, so it won’t work for most users: https://in-tools.com/products/plugins/power-headers/
I keep hoping that he’ll update it, or have someone else update it…
