I just tried it, and can confirm that mailto links do not seem to work on safari in iOS.
I see that other people have reported things similar, such as:

I haven’t seen this. I did some searching and found that World Ready Composer was breaking some links, but that was supposed to be fixed already.
I wonder if this is just a Safari problem. Have you tried 2 or more Macs with Safari to see if it is a local problem?

That said, InDesign has a lot of “screen display” bugs, and it is true that sometimes quitting and relaunching the program seems to be the best thing for clearing stuff up.
Not sure what you mean, Rombout. The script works well… once you correct the bad characters. For example, curly quotes must change to straight quotes. And (this is annoying) you need to change the “—” en dash character in line 3 to two normal dashes.
I will see if I can fix Keith’s formatting above.
