David BlatnerKeymasterLarge PDFs usually are due to lots of images. The pdf presets don’t always offer the options you want. Try changing the color and grayscale resolution to 150 ppi and set the compression to Medium. That might help. More info here:

David BlatnerKeymasterThat’s odd and rare… but resetting your preferences often helps with this. More information here:

David BlatnerKeymasterYeah, it usually only takes a few minutes for me. Maybe something was slowing down your bandwidth. I don’t think it actually uploads your graphics — just your INDD file. So if the INDD file size is huge, I suppose that could make a big difference.
David BlatnerKeymasterWow. Crazy! I wonder what happened? I am very glad to hear that you got it working again.

David BlatnerKeymasterMy apologies for the forum problem. I updated the previous forum thread.
David BlatnerKeymasterMy apologies for the delay. I didn’t see this (Peter, in the future, if topics or replies don’t show up, please feel free to email me directly or contact us with the Contact Us form — link in the footer of this page)
I have no idea why those replies didn’t show up. A forum mystery!
David BlatnerKeymasterBeautiful work, Doug!
David BlatnerKeymasterWow. I’m not sure what is going on. Here’s another person from a few years ago:
If you add new pages, do they come in properly?
David BlatnerKeymasterI saw your photos on Facebook, Matthew. I am wondering if maybe something is bad with your document. Use File > Export to save it as an IDML file and then open the IDML file. Does that help?
David BlatnerKeymasterPB means “pasteboard” so perhaps things moved to the pasteboard?
Are you in Preview mode? If you choose the Selection tool and press Command-A (or Ctrl-a on windows) do you see objects selected but maybe cannot see them?
David BlatnerKeymasterI just want to confirm that you’re talking about the stacking order in InDesign, not when you export to something like PDF, right? if any object is an interactive object (such as a Button) it will move above other objects in the PDF.
David BlatnerKeymasterTechnically we’re currently at CC 2015.3 —the 3rd version came out a couple of months ago with bug fixes and minor features.

David BlatnerKeymasterGreat question! There is no way your screen can show accurate color or your system be color managed without a monitor profile. Claudia McCue is writing a piece comparing the DataColor Spyder and the XRite i1Display Pro in issue 85 of InDesign Magazine, but spoiler alert: She likes them both. I have a datacolor Spyder 5 and I like it.
David BlatnerKeymasterAri: It is generally a better choice to use RGB images in InDesign, even for an all-print workflow, unless there is a very good reason to convert to CMYK first. Claudia and I discussed this here:
https://creativepro.com/import-rgb-images-indesign-convert-cmyk-export.phpRWVVV: What you’re describing is a color management issue. It makes me nervous that you’re relying on Apple RGB for your document workspace rather than sRGB. They’re similar, but… Well, this is a deep subject, and I go into a lot of detail in my Lynda.com course InDesign Insider Training: Color Management.
I have a movie in there about dealing with Illustrator docs. For example, you need to be clear whether it’s a CMYK doc in Illustrator, or an RGB document. (Only RGB AI docs get color managed.)
