David BlatnerKeymasterYou’re talking about a word in the middle of the sentence? I’m not sure why you would want to move words like that… what’s wrong with it?
However, in general, you’d probably need to manage that manually.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don’t know of any grammar checker plug-ins other than Mindsteam’s. In most cases, I recommend people write in a program such as Word rather than InDesign.
The native spelling checker is pretty good, but I believe Mindsteam does other languages that InDesign might not?
David BlatnerKeymasterHey, that’s a good idea, Kai.
I don’t usually remember to use Place and Link, because I often have trouble getting it to work the way I want. However, for something like a watermark, it is a very easy task! Thank you for reminding us.(The thing I like least about Place and Link is that it creates a lot of extra stuff in the Links panel.)

David BlatnerKeymasterIndexing is not one of the more fun features in InDesign, and you can’t do some of the things you might expect.
We have a lot of articles on the topic:
https://creativepro.com/tag/indexBut I would encourage you to sign up for LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) and watch some training videos on making indexes, such as:
https://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/Indexing-document/114324/127143-4.html
or
https://www.lynda.com/InCopy-tutorials/Creating-index-topics-references/179050/363427-4.htmlBut if you already have the list of words you want indexed, you might want to use an alternative, such as IndexMatic:

David BlatnerKeymasterSimilar to this trick: https://creativepro.com/making-a-text-highlighter.php
David BlatnerKeymasterOnce you’ve created all the master pages, it’s kind of a pain to set this up… but if you’re starting fresh, you can create a single master page and then make your other master pages based on that one. Then any change you make to the “parent” master page will be reflected on all the others.
You can make master pages based on others after you create them, but it takes some clean-up to get it right.
Another option would be to simply export the whole thing as a PDF and then apply a watermark to all the pages with that feature in Acrobat.
David BlatnerKeymasterKen, if you use the automatic bullet feature, the paragraph will be indented (hanging bullet). You can use the bullet options dialog box to set the color of the bullet by applying a character style:
https://creativepro.com/formatting-tips-bullets-numbered-lists.phpThe “run-in” heading could be done with a nested style
https://creativepro.com/nested-versus-next.php
or a line style, maybe:

David BlatnerKeymasterWow… I haven’t had that permissions problem, and probably half the InDesign documents I work on are in dropbox all the time. I’m on a Mac. My colleagues (Anne-Marie and others at Creative Publishing Network) all use the same files with no problems.
David BlatnerKeymasterIn general, it’s better to use the Space Before (or Space After) feature to put spaces between paragraphs, rather than blank paragraphs.
David BlatnerKeymasterDwayne: Interesting… we work on files that are saved in dropbox all the time. The only problem we have is when two people try to work on the file at the same time, accidentally. But permissions don’t seem to be an issue. What kinds of problems have you run into?
David BlatnerKeymasterNo, InDesign only exports HTML and EPUB. There is no way to import HTML into InDesign at this time (CC 2017). I have talked with Adobe about this in detail and I hope that someday they will add those features! :-)
