I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I’ve been meaning to find out more. I think it will be very beneficial for what I do, which is heavy equipment manuals.
Which version of INDD are you using? There was an update some time ago that caused me to have that issue. Trashing the preferences file was the fix, and the next update after that cleared it up.
I can’t recall the post, but I’m thinking this might be a time conditional text would come in handy.
That’s the version I’m on. It’s not too bad most of the time. 2015 gave me fits, though.
Now if only Solidworks would get their stuff ironed out.
QuarkXpress … I remember that used to blow up regularly. Most of the small newspapers I worked for at the time didn’t have the best computers and servers either, which didn’t help.
Between INDD, Solidworks, AutoCAD and our document vault software, I get LOTS of creative breaks.
INDD is actually not the worst offender, even.
OK, so this is odd! Using the control panel drop down menu, I scaled it to 50%, then undid that, and suddenly the weight dropped to .325! All I did was click the 50% and then control Z.
No, that box is not checked in the General Preferences.
Both images are scaled on the page, so neither are at 100%.
I should have added, that the one that appears thinner is the only image on the page with that issue. All of the other images on this and subsequent pages with similar images, similarly treated, have the same stroke.
I re-imported it into a new frame and everything is fine, but now it’s a matter of my curiosity being piqued. I’d sure like to know what’s going on so I can avoid it again.
I added my request too! This would be very helpful for me as well.
