TypeDNA Is New Kind of Font Manager

Press Release
TypeDNA has announced the immediate availability of the world’s first creative font software. TypeDNA goes beyond the traditional font manager by providing tools that assist in choosing the right font.
TypeDNA is the only font tool that runs both standalone and extends all its creative and management features inside Adobe Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, and InDesign CS5. This unique approach significantly enhances font capabilities and complements the design process.
* A designer’s dream for using and understanding fonts
* Makes it easy to choose the right font for the job
* Analyzes the DNA of each font you own
* Manages font Installation
* Runs as a standalone font manager
* Runs alongside existing font managers
* Runs direct inside Adobe CS5 (speeding it up!)
TypeDNA is compatible with both Mac & Windows; both are priced at $39.

Finally a font manager that offers the same on both Windows & Mac and it even runs inside Adobe CS!

Agreed… the Adobe CS feature looks sweet. Tired of Illustrator’s slow dropdown for choosing fonts (which is different than Photoshop’s). I’ve tried many a PC font manager (Font Agent, CFont Pro) but they either offer too many or not enough options. Looking forward to trying this on Windows 7

Has any one tried the free font manager, The Font Thing? I always loved it and it was free, but it needs some tweeking to work on Windows 7. How does this compare to The Font Thing? Anyone know? Thanks.

I’ll have to check it out.

I just noticed the price on the company’s website say’s $39, and this story says $29. Is there some incorrect information or perhaps a discount extended to CreativePro subscribers?

  • Terri Stone says:

You’re correct, the TypeDNA website does now say $39. I didn’t keep the original press release, so I couldn’t check what price they set when they in the release. Curious.

    Thanks for the head’s up!

We had to raise the price as there was a big difference in US pricing to European pricing. We think it fair to have equal pricing regardless of geographical location. Our timing could have been a little better, but we have been honoring the original price for those who registered with us or missed out and contacted me. The software is still considerably cheaper than other products on the market. https://www.typedna.com

Trying the online demo is not as satisfying as giving the actual software a good ‘thrashing’ on a local machine.

Why not a time limited download?

Hi, I use also the tool TypeDNA. In the last days I can’t start the tool, because the Server for the licence check are not response. How you handle this, maybe your TypeDNA tool also didn’t start? Thank you in for an answer.
