    I have a document that has the first word of a sentence in the middle of a paragraph and/or the last word of same at the bottom or top of pages. How do I force the one word to move to the next page or stay with the previous page? It’s not the end of the paragraph so the grep expression that I found: (?<=\w)(?=\w+[[:punct:]]*\r) is questionable as to whether it will work.
    Can someone please help? I would rather not have to manually add no breaks or non-breaking spaces for when the text changes it may reflow and not be an issue.

    You’re talking about a word in the middle of the sentence? I’m not sure why you would want to move words like that… what’s wrong with it?
    However, in general, you’d probably need to manage that manually.

    At the bottom of a page the last line would look like this, “prepaid and save a ton of money. Then” On the next page it continues, “after you…” or the other way around. “Align your thoughts with your” then on the next page “goals. Follow through is required.” Does that help? These are not actually what is there, just examples.

    Ah! That is helpful. You don’t want a single word stranded. I don’t think there is any way to deal with that in InDesign. You could make a grep style that keeps all the first words of a sentence with the second word, for example, but it would apply to every sentence — not just the ones at the bottom of a column. InDesign’s GREP feature can’t “see” where it is in a column or on a line.
