Number nine(ty), number nine(ty), number nine(ty)… (Anyone else remember the Beatles? Am I showing my age?!) Well, anyway, here are some InDesign links I noticed recently that I want to pass along to y’all:
- Still curious about whether to upgrade to InDesign CS6? Mike Rankin weighs in with this deep review at creativepro. While you’re there, read Mordy’s great write-up on Illustrator CS6, too!
- I enjoyed this little read about Cyril Burt’s psych tests on readability in typography, and how we can use that information using today’s fonts.
- Are you multilingual? If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, you can install two or more different language versions of the same software (e.g. the English and Spanish versions of InDesign).
- This is way too cool: a miniature city made from metal type!
- Lots of plug-in developers have been releasing CS6 versions of their software recently, including DTP Tools. (While that link doesn’t include it, I happen to know that they have also updated Blatner Tools!)

EPUB, DPS, and Interactive
- Some publishers think they can just take a backlist PDF and convert it to EPUB. Okay, technically you can. But do you want to? VIGC says beware!
- Want to make a fixed-layout EPUB? Check out this amazing “donation-ware” plug-in from Rorohiko, called ePubCrawler! If you use it, consider sending them $50 or more. It’s more than worth it.
