People use InDesign to set type in all directions: left to right, right to left, top-to-bottom, and even inside-to-outside (that’s used mostly for transcendental texts, of course). But however you set text and graphics, there’s always more to learn. Here’s some links that can help:

Interesting tip on the Anchored Object for Page Geometery! But it does involve anchoring objects. Which can be time consuming.

I recently stumbled on something that seems to work – use Object States in CS5 to have many different locations for images on a page. This question was recently asked on the Adobe Forums. The user wanted to know if size and location of an image could be used in Object Styles – sadly size and location is a big problem. They had say a 1/3 page advert, 1/4 page, 1/2 page and full page, and they changed each issue.

One interesting way to achieve this was to create Object States for each type of advert, then it was just a matter of one click.

The only thing you have to do is make sure that when you File>Export>PDF (print) to Include Interactive Elements (Appearance only).

I’ll have to read through the rest of these articles later… some interesting stuff.

    Thanks
