An all-new collection of articles, videos, and resources for InDesign users
It’s been a while since I hit “publish” on one of these posts, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t stop collecting articles about InDesign to share! That said, I didn’t quite realize how long it’s been… some of these are a full year old. Ouch.
Nevertheless, better late than never, right? So here, then, is a collection of articles, videos, and resources you’re gonna’ want to check out. Enjoy!
- You know I can’t resist InDesign GREP tricks… here’s one: Find spaces only (no returns or tabs)
- Make Greeting Cards in Adobe InDesign
- Using an RPA to Create an InDesign PDF Filled with Web Data
- CreativePro Week 2020 – The one during the pandemic (yes, that was from last year, but still fun to read! And, for better or worse, our 2021 conference was also during the pandemic and was online)
- The Online Letterform Archive Is Now Open to All
- This is an old article, but I just found it recently… I love these newspaper typefaces!
- Are you curious about the future (and present) of print and the PDF/X-6 spec? Dov Isaacs has been one of the top print guys at Adobe. I just found his slides from a talk he gave early last year, and it’s kinda geeky, but interesting!
- Towards Automating Accessible Ebooks (and more…) by Jens Tröger
- How to Use Design Thinking to Conquer Self-Doubt, by Ward Andrews of Drawbackward (yes, “ward” backward is “draw”)
- This is a cool free script from Kerntiff: Xchange Strings / XStrings
- I gotta say, I’ve loved the Cooper Black font since I was a kid in the late 70s. This is a great video about why it’s wonderful.
- So many good videos about type these days! Here’s another one, a short talk by Erik Spiedermann, animated as part of the Creativity Explained series.
- Were you an Adobe Muse user? I was! Well, what if you could use InDesign (plus in5) to make simple web pages? Myra Ferguson explains.
- Several dozen amazing simple-function scripts for InDesign by Paul Chiorean
- Good design relies on your eyeballs more than math and perfection. This article explains why. (He focuses on UX design, but it’s totally relevant for InDesign users, too.)
- OK, this one is an Illustrator tutorial, but it’s so dang cute that I had to include it. Check out Kladi’s Piper the Explorer videos. Gotta’ get her to do this for InDesign next!
