Sony MVC-FD88
Since being introduced, Sony’s Mavica FD88 (code name: MVC-FD88) has led nation’s best-selling line of digital cameras, and even today, more than a year after its introduction, remains a favorite among consumers. Proof? Check out the bevy of user reviews at PC Photo Review.
The folks at Megapixel.net like the MVC-FD88’s performance and are attracted to the entire line’s ease of use, but find a design drawback in that the camera has no viewfinder, opting instead for a 2.5" LCD screen for framing and composition (full review). Flaws aside, the most popular feature of the Mavica line of cameras remains their floppy storage system, which really speeds up the time it takes to store or retrieve images — for this alone, the MVC-FD88 and entire Mavica line should remain a prosumer favorite for some time to come.
