Scripts to Reorder Paragraphs of Text in InDesign

4

If you find yourself often cutting and pasting (or even drag and dropping) to rearrange paragraphs in InDesign, you’re going to love a new pair of scripts from Peter Kahrel. One script moves selected paragraphs before the preceding paragraph, the other script moves them after the following paragraph.

Selecting paragraphs to move is very easy. To target a single paragraph all you need to do is put your cursor anywhere in it. To target multiple paragraphs just have some text selected in each one.

Then run the scripts to move the text up or down.

Before running the Move Para Up script

After running the script

Assign keyboard shortcuts to both scripts and you’ll be rearranging paragraphs in the blink of an eye.

You can read more about the scripts and download them here.

Thanks, Peter!

Hello, I love ID and have been working in for years, however still a newby.
So I have been reading and searching for a way to sort the pages tab ID 2020-21, when using the numbering and section in ID I used names of different items that represent a page with info of that item. As time passed I found myself in a hurry adding pages with names out of order, now the doc is 300 some pages with very little I can do except to move the pages manually to where they would be in alphabetical order, takes forever.
Is there a script that could sort the pages in my document that would sort by alpha and move the pages automatically to that alpha sort.
    Thanks, you guys are great.
