Possible Problems with 7.5.1 Update for InDesign CS5.5
Some third-party plug-ins may break after 7.5.1 update
We’re hearing a number of reports that there may be some significant problems with third-party plug-ins after you update InDesign CS5.5 to version 7.5.1.
Apparently, a number of plug-ins that worked in CS5 that “magically” kept working in CS5.5 suddenly stop working in this update. For example, some font management plug-ins (for auto-activation) seem to break pretty badly.
There’s a discussion of this at the Adobe forums here. We will keep you updated as news comes in. But in general, if InDesign breaks horribly after you update, you’re going to need to get a new version of the plug-in from the developer. (Some companies already have true 5.5/7.5.1-safe plug-ins available.)
