New Interactive Documents with InDesign Title Now Available at lynda.com

If you're interested in creating interactive documents or presentations with InDesign CS5, you have to check out this new video title!

Recently most of my posts on InDesign Secrets have about creating and working with interactive documents and presentations. It might not seem surprising that I my first lynda.com series is on that very topic. Recording my first video series was really challenging and I can’t stand to hear my own voice, but if you are interested in learning more information about creating interactive documents with InDesign CS5, here is the description of the series (and there’s a sample movie below):

In InDesign CS5: Interactive Documents and Presentations, Adobe Certified Instructor and designer James Fritz shows print designers how to use InDesign by itself and in conjunction Flash Professional to layout and design a wide range of digital documents. The course provides a tour of digital publishing trends, showing real-world examples of what can be achieved through InDesign. Several start-to-finish projects are also included, such as creating a presentation with transitions and animations, and building an interactive microsite. Exercise files accompany the course.

Topics include:

  • Studying new trends in digital design
  • Creating a PDF and SWF presentation
  • Building different navigation systems
  • Creating interactive slideshows
  • Animating a presentation as a SWF in InDesign
  • Designing an interactive microsite
  • Adding video and audio to a document
  • Building an interactive TOC with buttons
  • Using InDesign and Flash to build an interactive catalog
  • InDesign to Flash production tips

If you want to see the videos, but you’re not currently a lynda.com subscriber, you have two options:
