The Lomography Smartphone Film Scanner
If you’re like most humans who have been around for more than a couple decades, you probably have a collection of old film negatives somewhere. And whether they’re fastidiously cataloged and protected in plastic sleeves, or tossed about in jumble of envelopes in a cardboard box, your negatives need a little help to make the leap to digital and gain new life. You could invest in a traditional film scanner. Or you could join in on a cool Kickstarter project by Lomography to help create a film scanner that attaches to a smart phone.

The Lomography Smartphone Film Scanner will offer the ability to scan, edit, and share the images that are gathering dust in the closets, attics, and basements of the world. It will be iPhone and Android compatible. And it will work with all 35mm films. There’s just one potential problem. All those photos of tragic haircuts and fashion faux pas of our collective youth will see the light of day again, and be appearing on Facebook. Such is the price of progress.
The Kickstarter project ends Monday Feb 4th.
