Insider Software Releases FontAgent Pro Server 1.1
Insider Software announced today the immediate availability of FontAgent® Pro Server version 1.1, which adds high performance network synchronization functionality. FontAgent Pro Server delivers professional font management, diagnostics and repair to entire departments and enterprises. FontAgent Pro Server furnishes administrators with consistency and control over font use by providing designers with access to only those fonts that have been designated for specific users and groups.
Stronger Set Management
FontAgent Pro Server 1.1 gives administrators the ability to specify startup sets on the server that get downloaded to connected user systems. After the administrator makes startup-set modifications, the first time that users connect to the server, they receive the new fonts and their systems are automatically configured to activate those fonts at system startup.
Faster Synchronization and Server Performance
The latest release of FontAgent Pro Server also includes new updating algorithms that provide faster font synchronization with user client systems. In addition, version 1.1 delivers higher performance on server-based font management tasks.
Free Update for FontAgent Pro Server Customers
The new release is a free update for registered users of FontAgent Pro Server version 1. To upgrade, customers, register online, download the new software and install it over their existing installation. Registered licensees of earlier versions of FontAgent Pro Server can obtain the new release by contacting Insider Software Support.
New Local and Hosted 30-Day Trial Versions
Users can also request 30-day free trials of FontAgent Pro Server, and they now have their choice of installing it locally on one of their existing Macs, or connecting to a demo server at Insider’s data center. To obtain a full-function, 10-user trial version of the server users can visit https://www.insidersoftware.com/DL_server.php.
To help network and IT managers that don’t have the time or available systems to install a trial server locally, Insider has created a novel way to try FontAgent Pro Server. Administrators can simply download the FontAgent Pro client and use the Internet to connect to a demo server in Insider’s data center. They can perform all administrative functions such as library creation, set management, and font synchronization. To obtain a demo server account and instructions, customers can visit https://www.insidersoftware.com/trytheserver.php and fill out the demo server account request form. An Insider representative will e-mail instructions within 24 hours.
System Requirements
FontAgent Pro Server requires Mac OS X version 10.3 or later, 30 megabytes of disk space and a server with at least 256 megabytes of memory. No dedicated server hardware required.
