InDesign Secrets Video: Making a Character Style Change Only the Tint of Your Text

Most InDesign features are carefully positioned and presented in the user interface so that you know where they are and can find them quickly the next time you want to use them. In the industry jargon, they are “discoverable.” But there are some features that are almost totally hidden, so you’d probably never come across them. Hey, that’s why we call them “secrets,” right? And in the latest InDesignSecrets video at lynda.com, David Blatner reveals one such “secret” feature: character styles that only affect the tint of text color. So with this trick, you can use one character style to, say, change the tint of text to 50% of whatever color that text happens to be.
