Free Lynda.com Video: Customizing the Normal View
Learn how to take control of InDesign's Normal view to get visual clutter out of your way, and keep just the controls you use at your fingertips.
Time for another free video from the InDesignSecrets series at Lynda.com! This time it’s Anne-Marie Concepción showing how to take control of the Normal View to get visual clutter out of your way.
Things like Link Badges, Anchored Object Controls, Live Corner controls, and even the Content Grabber (aka the Evil Donut), can speed up your work or they just be distractions. Fortunately, you can customize exactly which controls appear in the Normal view, to optimize it to your tastes. This is a much better alternative than working in Preview mode where the display is so simplified that you can’t see any on-page controls, or things like hidden characters, edges of frames that aren’t selected, etc. Anne-Marie also shows you how to pick any color you like for frame edges. Check it out!
