Free InDesign CS4 Booklet
The reasoning and practice of setting up designed paragraph styles. The importance of doing this is incomprehensible to most. It can save 50% of your production time or more, but it takes a little thought, and then a little work.
The free booklet “Easing your Workload: Make InDesign Fit Your Style” addresses a common problem dealt with by many modern graphic designers: How do I get control of my styles so I can apply them quickly, easily, & effectively?
Most design schools never even consider the question. As a result, most designers are virtually self-taught in this area with no practical guidance.
What is needed is a set of designed default styles. David has 40 years experience in page layout and typographic design. While claiming no special gift or knowledge, there are some practical issues to mention. In this booklet he shares some of what he’s learned—hopefully triggering ideas on the part of the reader that will enable them to get InDesign formatting under control. Page layout can become fun again.
The booklet is published through the on-demand printer Lulu to keep costs down. The PDF is free to download. A printed version (24-page full color) is available from them for $9.30 (their cost). The location is the Radiqx Press Storefront: www.lulu.com/content/4687521.
