Ever have a great photo that you wanted to print at home onto a t-shirt? Previously, your options were to use an ink jet iron-on transfer or invest in your own silk screening equipment. But now you can print any photo on any natural fabric and get stunning results using a new textile print system called the Lumi Process.
The Lumi Process uses light sensitive dyes called Inkodye that develop their color when exposed to sunlight. The dyes currently come in three colors, red, orange, and blue.
Inkodyes will print on any natural fabric, including cotton, silk, wool, and even suede. Lumi prints are permanent and machine washable.
There’s even an iPhone app called Lumityper for turning your photos into negatives that can be printed with Inkodye and transferred to fabric.
To grow their business fast, Lumi has a Kickstarter campaign where you can learn more about the system and pledge to receive your own kit of dyes and films.
