Font Fetish: Lakeside
I can’t deny it: I loooooove typefaces. Lucky for me, I’m also the editor of a Web site for creative pros, many of whom share my tendencies. For all of us type nerds, I’m introducing a new blog, Font Fetish.
Font Fetish shows samples of a noteworthy typeface and gives you a bit of background, including where to get the font. For the first Font Fetish entry, I’m going back in time to Mark Simonson’s Lakeside, a type family inspired by titles from the 1944 film noir movie “Laura”:

While its inspiration is old, the technology behind Lakeside is not — you’ll find many OpenType features, such as automatic alternate letters, automatic fractions, and multi-lingual support.
Lakeside starts at $39 for a single typeface. You can buy it from Font Bros and MyFonts.com.
If you’ve seen any type you’d like me to feature in Font Fetish, please drop me a line.
