Autodesk Advances 3D Character Animation with Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2
Autodesk, Inc. today announced the second extension for its Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 software, the foremost real-time 3D character animation and 3D storytelling solution for game, film and broadcast production. The second extension delivers enhanced performance and stability, new features and functionality, as well as additional platform support for the Intel?based Macintosh operating system and the 64-bit Windows XP operating system. The extension is planned to be available for download to all Autodesk MotionBuilder Platinum members later this month.
As entertainment pipelines become more complex and datasets increase in size, MotionBuilder allows artists to interactively animate and visualize characters, and provides out-of-the-box solutions to complex animation challenges.
Autodesk MotionBuilder Extension 2: Key New Features New performance enhancements in Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2 accelerate complex, high-quality animation projects. Animators will benefit from improved load speeds for file input/output, and optimizations for plotting and faster scene evaluation.
New features and functionality in the extension also enhance motion capture solving and character animation. The new Biped Template enables 3ds Max software users to quickly rig their Biped characters in MotionBuilder. Furthermore, a new finger solver in the Actor toolset allows animators to apply optical marker data to a character?s fingers in real time.
Autodesk MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2 offers support for additional hardware technologies and operating systems, including Mac OS X as a universal binary application, and Windows XP 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems. Support for Intel-based Macintosh and PowerPC computers provides customers with additional options as they build their ideal pipeline, while support for Windows XP 64-bit enhances customer capabilities and performance when working with large and complex scene data.
