Adobe Announces PDF Print Engine 3
Adobe has announced a new version of the PDF Print Engine, the platform used to render print outuput in digital presses, large format printers, and platesetters.
The top new features of Adobe PDF Print Engine 3 include the following:
Mercury RIP Architecture, which can manage multiple instances of the Print Engine for faster throughput in a single system, or by using several systems concurrently on a network.
Streaming for faster output of Variable Data Print jobs
Better alignment with Acrobat and Reader displays, to ensure a closer match from screen to print and the elimination of “unwelcome surprises.”
