HP and WhatTheyThink Present "It's Good to Be Green"
WhatTheyThink.com today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. It’s Good to be Green, which will be led by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Director of the Business Development and Custom Communications Services for research firm InfoTrends. Sponsored by HP, the program will be held Wednesday, April 30th, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EDT (-4 GMT).
No-charge registration is available here.
“We have seen significant progress within the printing industry in terms of efforts to reduce our environmental footprint,” said Pellow. “During this session, we will review some new statistical research from InfoTrends the reflects the growing importance of the environment in many businesses, benefiting both their internal operations and their position with their customers. But it goes beyond such things reducing waste and managing chemistry better. Environmental consciousness extends to helping customers better manage their consumption of resources through targeted communications that are more likely to be acted upon than conventional mass mailings, the majority of which end up in the landfill without even being read.”
Pellow will be joined by:
* Jim Hamilton, Group Director of InfoTrends On Demand Printing & Publishing, Jetting Technology Opportunities and Wide Format Printing Consulting Services.
* Richard Kouwenhoven Vice President, Digital Solutions & Fulfillment Services, Hemlock Printing in Burnaby, British Columbia. The firm is an environmentally progressive printer that has been named the most progressive printer in Canada for three years running.
* Jim Duffy, President, Alonzo Printing Company Inc., Hayward, California. Alonzo has a corporate policy of working with employees, customers, vendors, manufacturers and distributors of materials, supplies and production systems to achieve a neutral carbon footprint.
* Cheryl Kahanec, Vice President of Digital Color for Sandy Alexander, Inc., one of the country’s most respected full service graphic communication companies. Sandy Alexander is one of the only printing companies in the world to have ISO 9001:2001, ISO 14001:2004 and FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Chain-of-Custody Certification.
“We are extremely pleased that HP is once again a sponsor of a very important educational session; this one focusing on how graphic communications services providers can improve their environmental stance,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “Attendees will leave the session with solid recommendations for reducing their environmental impact and marketing those actions to customers as a competitive advantage.”
Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
