Boston is the place to be this summer, as type lovers from around the world gather at TypeCon2006: The Boston T Party. SOTA returns to its roots for its eighth annual conference (the first two TypeCons were held in a Boston suburb).
TypeCon2006 features some of the most respected and innovative names in type, design, and the related arts. More than 60 speakers and workshop leaders will participate, including David Berlow, Matthew Carter, James Craig, Jim Parkinson, Paul Shaw, Clif Stoltze, and Robin Williams.
Through presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, TypeCon2006 attendees will explore Boston’s rich historical and contemporary culture, type and design education, calligraphy and hand lettering, custom type for publications, corporate branding, digital font technology, and other topics. TypeCon2006 will also include tours of Boston’s typographic hotspots, the TypeGallery showcase of international typeface design, a type and design education forum, and special evening events.
