MEI’s InQuery RSS Now Available for Mac

Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry, today announced that InQuery® RSS, MEI’s new add-on for the vjoon (formerly SoftCare) K4™ Publishing System, is now available for the Macintosh platform. InQuery RSS, which was released for Windows in September, lets users review and check the status of items in the K4 database from any Internet-enabled device with an RSS reader.
InQuery RSS is a server-side application that translates K4 Queries into RSS feeds. Feeds can be read on various platforms and devices, including desktops, Palm, BlackBerry and iPhone. It is designed for any K4 user who wants to keep an eye on the workflow anytime, from anywhere. It can be applied to workflows in which some teams may not have direct access to K4 but could benefit from a quick preview of content — for example, Web team members who have to create teasers to tout the next day’s print content, prepress departments keeping a lookout for released pages, or staff repurposing stories for a sister publication.
As an incentive for interested publishers currently using K4, MEI is offering free, time-limited trials of InQuery RSS. To request a demo version, visit https://www.maned.com/products/inqueryrss and click the “FREE TRIAL” tab. Visitors can also register to see a Flash video demonstration of InQuery RSS at https://www.maned.com/demoform.
MEI will showcase InQuery RSS along with its other powerful publishing solutions at IFRA Expo 2008, October 27-30 in Amsterdam. To schedule a demo of InQuery RSS or any of MEI’s products at IFRA, contact Martin Thorne at in**@***ed.com.
