IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events, today announced that Microsoft® will lead a day-long training session focused on the highly anticipated Universal version of Office 2008 for Mac during Macworld Conference & Expo. The new session entitled, "A Day At The Office: Microsoft Office 2008," will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to preview and receive training on Office 2008 before it hits shelves. This informative course will be offered on Monday, January 14th from 9:00 am – 6:30 pm, and attendees can register by visiting https://www.macworldexpo.com. Macworld Conference & Expo is scheduled to take place January 14 – 18, 2008, at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
In this day-long series of sessions, software engineers and program managers from Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit (Mac BU) will present new Office 2008 features and improvements that promise to simplify work for Office users. The software developers themselves will give comprehensive training and deep insights into each application Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage, as well as demonstrate some of the new functionality that has been integrated across the entire suite. Both new and experienced users will learn how to better manage their information, communicate their ideas with high-impact design, and confidently work across platforms with Office 2008 for Mac.
"The Mac BU’s mission is to deliver the industry standard in productivity applications for the Mac platform and help our customers confidently and compatibly share their work across platforms," said Sheridan Jones, Group Marketing Manager, Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit. "With Office 2008 we’ve delivered the most Mac-like, powerful and easy to use productivity suite in our 24 years on the platform and we’re excited to unveil it to the largest gathering of Mac enthusiasts in the world."
Additional features include a Publishing Layout View that allows users to effortlessly create layout-rich documents in Word; Ledger Sheets that enables Excel users to easily handle common financial management tasks on their own; and My Day, a stand-alone application that lets users track priorities and stay on top of daily tasks without having to launch Office’s Entourage personal information manager.
