To me it seems so intuitive that people would want this option!
Any other creative solutions aside from moving each text box with a shaded box down so the color starts in the right place – something I really don’t want to do!

I forgot to mention the doc was dual language (in addition to the 2 column, images with wraps, etc.)
On the advice of a colleague, I turned on legacy text shaping and that made a huge difference.

But that doesn’t saolve the footnote issues and there is obviously something wrong with the file which I would like to get to the bottom of.
He’s also going to want to put out a pocket size of this book and I don’t knwo if it’ll be more or a diff designer, but at this point, the file is just too quirky.
It was a complicated book to begin with and would be a huge shame and financial loss for someone to have to start from scratch.

Somehow, I didn’t find this one. (Maybe I wasn’t searching for the right terms.)
In the meantime, I did manual fixing to get this book finished.

The previous paragraph got complicated, but I read through the comments on that post and the solution for me seems to be to add a drop cap to the par style with the number of lines the icon is tall. I am making the dropcap 2 charachters and adding a space after the icon rather than using a text wrap.
I’d still love to know what the problem was! But at least this solution seems to be working.

Rivkah LewisThis book has a ton of styles, but if I understood your question correctly, there are instances where the style works fine and instances it doesn’t.
No nested style, GREP style or override.
