ParticipantWhat do you mean by an “X”?
If you mean a picture of an X, simply make a photoshop file of an “X”, and place that in a pictureframe, and drag that from a ID-library to InDesign – then an “X” allways will accur :)

ParticipantMore details please :)

Is it a new InDesign doc or an excisting?

ParticipantPerhaps the pdf export settings are not the same :)

ParticipantHi – in the Object Palel, in the fly-out panel, there is an “Load Object Styles”. This way you can load them from another doc.
You can’t add object styles to an existing document by having them as standard. They must be there from scracth.Niels JÌürgen Pedersen
ParticipantNo, not something that actually works.
Continue editing them in Illustrator, or, if they have a long lifespan, make them all over in InDesign.

ParticipantSo, it is not the page you are missing, but the content on that page?
My guess is an overprint issue. Thy to se “Overprint preview” to On, (Under “View” and see if the objects still are visible? If not, perhaps the objects is set to “Mutiply” in “effects” menu?

ParticipantBy placing a textframe on top, and write text there :)

ParticipantYou set the footnote to align to baseline grid i a paragraph style.
You set a paragraf style to the foot note in “”Document footnote options”Niels JÌürgen Pedersen
ParticipantNo, you can’t change the “registration” color. Cropmarks are ment to be visible in alle colors in the dokument when outputting, why do you want to change it?

ParticipantIf you are making something for screen, always work in 72 dpi.
There is a huge difference in making something for screen or print!Niels JÌürgen Pedersen
ParticipantYou don’t turn that off in your preferences, but in the “Pages” panel.
Go in the fly-out panel i the Pages panel, select “Panel options”, and uncheck “Show thumbnails” in both “Pages” and “Masters”.
Then InDesign will not generate prewiews anymore :)

ParticipantI use dropbox, where i have everything, pictures, logos and so on saved at on place, and the InDesign documents at an other.
One picture can be used many places, and i don’t want to have the same picture stored more than once.Package is in my world an old feature, from a time before yop could make a pdf and send til print.
Imagine, that you have to make a change in your logo? If you only have it in one place, you can thange that file, and all your work will be automatic updated. In your way, you will have to change every single version of your logo – and you have to remember to do so …

ParticipantLeave it as it is, unless the job is very heavy and slow to work on.
InDesign’s Book feature is amazing to work with very lage jobs. On small ones, it makes no sense :)

ParticipantIf your PDF gets washed out when you convert to CMYK from InDesign, you are doing it the wrong way :)
Like David says, keep your images in RGB.Make sure, that you choose the correct profile when converting.
The “Engine” within InDesign is excactly the same as in PhotoShop, so it makes no sense converting them in PhotoShop.

ParticipantThere is an very simple way for you: Don’t update!
As a matter of fact, It is your own responsibility, that you don’t update your app’s before you know that all plug-in can handle the update.
So dont blame Adobe, but blame yourself.
It has been this way for as long as i can remember.
