Finally fixed the last area by clicking on the “vertically center” icon in the very top menu bar.

I’ve partially figured it out, I have fixed the problem in most, but not all, of the table except one area.

Here’s what I did to fix it:

In the paragraph style options, under “Indents and Spacing” I previously had “Align to Grid–>All Lines”
    I turned it to “NONE”
Most text is now vertically centered.

But in one area it is not – still trying to figure this out.

Anne-Marie, I’m taking your Lynda.com course on InDesign to EPUB and loving it. But finding it so frustrating (not your teaching, but all the HTML and the differences between the version of ID most of the course is in and the one I’m using: 2014).

Do you know why my fixed layout epub docs look fine in iBooks, but not Adobe Digital Editions? I know you said only Apple iBooks supports fixed layouts, but I would have thought that Adobe does as well?

Also, in reflowable epubs, is there any way to fix my column width? Sometimes I need narrow single columns on a page for an author bio. I’ve tried using a paragraph style with indents… doesn’t work. Obviously the text box has nothing to do with column width. Can you help me?

Thank you, you’re a great teacher and your dogs are extremely cute.

You were right, Dear David! And I learned something new.

That was indeed the problem. Thank you so much.

Hi Duger53: What happens if you go to Preferences (cmd/ctrl-K), choose the Interface pane, and set Live Screen Drawing to Delayed. That makes it work like it did in CS4 and should speed things up. Yes?

(Many people love live screen drawing, but I find it really annoying.)

THan kyou thank you! I can't tell you how much precoious time I've wasted with this problem. I should have come here the moment it started… you folks are the greatest. I've learned my lesson. I'll just keep this site up in a browser tab 24/7.
