    1. – i dont have CC so I opened idml files and then save as indd.
    2. – How Indesign works: if you have 2 styles with the same Name in another indd file, Indesign keep formating.
    For example: You have doc. “FROM” with paragraph style “Titel” and Titel is set to Trade Gothic LT Std size 48 and so on.
    then you have doc “TOO” with paragraph style Titel but Titel is set to Vitali Neue size 60 and so on.
    Indesign take you Titel paragraph style with Trade gothic… and if you paste your text frame to the another document with paragraph style Titel but different font, Indesign use local settings.

    3. – If i create a new doc. then import all text styles, it works fine. (in video too)

    Im bad in English so i upload video for you, for better understanding :)

    Upload somewhere on internet, for example:

    https://wetransfer.com/

    And link copy here.

    Pack and share your documents and I look at it. Maybe I can find something you missed.

    Hi Larisa,
    have you tried import text styles to the new doc. ?

    Flyout menu in paragraph styles and choose Import all text styles.
    then try copy your text frame to the new doc.

    Hi Bengt, my solution is this:
    open flyout menu in links panel, choose panel option and check layer. Now you see layer column in links panel.
    Then you have to uncheck “Collapse Multiple Links to Same Source” Now is easy sort links by layer and you can relink them.

    ZIP Video on the link below.

    I created macro on this:

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au4b1k0c3BzYkYQ5xRvk_kPdPTnZNw

    If you are in indd, press shortcut CTRL+WIN+SHIFT+E – Macro takes name of file without extension. Then open info dialog and insert the name in Title box.

    I have CZECH version, but i think it should be work in other languages too.

    PC only.

    MAC or PC ?
    on PC i can write a simple script for you.

    Idea:
    shortcut Win+E – copy file name in to clipboard then open file info dialog, paste the name of indd and OK.

    Amanda,
    that is not a problem!!.
    I am only one with PC in my job. Because i think work on PC is 30-40% faster then on MAC (my experience 5years on MAC – 7years on PC)

    In this “crossplatform mode” you hit on those two issues:

    1. FONTS – like “pessimist Niels” wrote :)
    Easy sollution is convert them to open type and everyone just use this converted open type fonts.
    I use TransType 4

    2. LINKS – but you know: where the will, is way too.
    just google and you find script, wich can covert you MAC patch to PC path and reverse.
    If you work on network (I suppose yes) then here is example:

    var PATH_FROM_LIST = [“VolumesDTP_01”]; – take MAC path
    var PATH_TO_LIST = [“tronDTP_01”]; – and convert them to PC path (tron is name of our server)

    Just be carefull with backslash and change “Volumes” to your server.
    And then its not problem if you have a thousand folder behind “DTP_01” because the rest of path is the same like on MAC.
    You can add many many path if you need.

    For example you have 2 or more servers:

    var PATH_FROM_LIST = [“VolumesDTP_02″,”VolumesDTP_03\DATA”];
    var PATH_TO_LIST = [“SHELDONDTP_02″,”COOPERDTP_03\DATA”];

    To reverse path PC to MAC is the path a little bit diferent. in this path you will see “colons “:” bud “You get the idea, right?” As David says :)

    Sorry for my english ( everything i know in english is from movies and games)

    Any accents is wrong :)
    Because when i work across platforms and zip and unzip data, sometimes the name of folder will be destroyed like screen

    https://1drv.ms/f/s!Au4b1k0c3BzYguUq7wG7olpnQwO1jg

    Then links are broken and you have to relink them.
    I know it is no big deal, BUT ..we have 2016 …so :)

    And i dont want change UI language entirely, i like czech version :)

    SO AHK is the way ..

    FIND:
    “(?<=\w) .+\(.+\)” without quotes

    Preview:

    GREP always skip the first word and then set “italic” until he finds close brackets

    Hi,
    select text frame and then export like InDesign Snippet.
    File/Export/ (select save as InDesign snippet) and publish it here.

    Or paste here text from your doc.

    (Its easy if you have paragraph and characters styles.)

    You can use GREP like next step.

    Just delete first line with empty object.
