ParticipantNo, I am talking about a “regular” InDesign library, not a CC library and I managed to figure it out!
I had to quit InDesign and go to:
Users/username/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/
and delete the “Version 18.0” folder (my issue was in 2023). My cache was automatically rebuilt when I relaunched InDesign and now the option is back!

ParticipantIf you set up a table style properly then you won’t have to restyle the table (not beyond just clicking on the desired table style in the Table Styles palette that is)

ParticipantYou could even use dummy data, just in the same structure if you like =)

ParticipantPerhaps you could upload a sample Word doc that contains a table and an InDesign file to a file sharing service and drop the link here? I would be happy to take a look for you.

ParticipantHey there,
Have you tried selecting all of the cells in your INDD table and then pasting? If you only have one cell selected then you will end up with that nested table business.
If that doesn’t work, consider pasting the table into an excel spreadsheet, copying it from there and pasting into InDesign. I have had some luck with that in the past. Using this method will likely destroy existing formatting but setting up a proper table style should make that pretty painless to deal with.

ParticipantThat would be helpful though, I am not sure how to go about doing that on here… maybe upload the image to imgur and post a link or something?

ParticipantNext time it does something “Wacky” try zooming in and out on the text frame. Zooming in and out will get InDesign to redraw and I am wondering if this is simply a display issue that gets resolved when you force InDesign to redraw when you fit content to frame.
Let us know if that works or not!

ParticipantInteresting issue. I am going to go mess with some XML import options and see if I can reproduce your issue.

ParticipantIt sounds like EasyCatalog is exactly what you need, honestly. EasyCatalog is incredibly powerful once you delve into the power user side of it. Reach out to Avatar DPS for solution development or consulting. They have successfully completed hundreds of complex data publishing solutions and could definitely help you out with EasyCatalog or scripting.

ParticipantThe short answer is no, you can not apply layers to specific pages.
The long answer begins with the question: why would you want to? What problem are you trying to solve?
Chances are that there are other tools that you could use to solve your problem (like master pages, for example)
