MemberJust a stab in the dark, but is the printer itself set to print two-sided? Not your InDesign settings, but the printer itself?
I only ask because a few years ago at work we had trouble printing double-sided and we had to access the printer via the the IP address and log into it and enable double-sided printing.
We also had to go that route as well at one time because an update (either MacOS, Adobe, or printer) suddenly caused all files to print double-sided when we wanted on-sided. We had to log into the printer via IP address and make the default single, but allow double when selected in InDesign.

MemberI don’t know of any way to import via a URL. Not unless the more experienced members know of a way via script or something.

MemberType them?
I’m afraid I don’t understand. Do you mean to place them automatically?
Or would a better way be to have the verses set on the calendar pages and then automatically number the calendar dates?

I don’t think you can import the verses automatically as text, but maybe if they were images? And a script?
Hopefully others will chime in.

MemberOr you can just click anywhere in the text frame (so long as it’s not formatted/have overrides such as italic or bold or something). Then the character style box will come up empty.
When I have had a font show up in the box, I just use the delete the key and it deletes.

MemberI have those problems sometimes (especially when en or em dashes come in as a small x’d box. Thankfully, I’m able to copy that character and replace with the correct one. Same thing with accents that come in as a small x’d box. Copy and put in the search field, and replace with the right character.

MemberIt definitely depends upon the art
Normally I deal with charts and graphs that were done in Photoshop or Illustrator. I do the Figure Titles and captions in InDesign and group them with the art/graph. But the figures and axis points itself are done in Photoshop or Illustrator.
That is because while we may have to adjust the size of the art itself, we want the figure title and captions to always be the same size.
What kind of charts are you talking about? Similar to Excel charts and graphs, or tables that could be done in Indesign? If more of a table, then I’d do the table in InDesign with the background behind it.
I guess one way to look at is what has the best chance of needing to be edited? It’s much easier to edit a caption or table in InDesign. If you have to do it in Photoshop, then you need to edit it, then update the art in InDesign. So it’s a two-step process.
But that’s just me. I’m sure others here will have different opinions and reasons why.

MemberCheck to see if there is a character style applied to it. I think a while back I read about someone copying and pasting from a Word file and an unknown character style came through and was applied. The type was dark red and the font all convoluted.
As Cat said–if it’s just a pink color, it’s a missing font. But from your description, it sounds like some character style was applied.

MemberI know I’ve worked on jobs where someone had to make a double-column text frame. For some reason InDesign insisted that ever text frame made after that was double-colummn. It seemed to have turned into the default, even though the basic said otherwise. Even if I selected “basic” it still did it. Could never solve it and instead had to fix by hand.
Or being stuck on a character style when drawing a text box. It insists that a character style is chosen, even though I have selected none in the palette. Only options are to delete the character style and then remake it.
Is is buggy at times and does what it wants to do.

MemberMaybe I’m misunderstanding, but if the default alignment is wrong, I think you can change it by changing the alignment in the reference point. That is located in the top left corner of your tool bar. It looks like a big square with a bunch of small squares around it. Click the one you want it to be (i.e. top left, top right, center, etc.). It sounds like when you upgraded your previous setting got changed.
If that’s not the case and I misunderstood: Sorry.

MemberOnce you click “My account” at the top of the page, you should be able to scroll down to the very bottom for credit card information.
If that’s not working you will need to contact them directly. Scroll down to the bottom of the main page and there is contact info.
Good luck.

MemberWow–that looks pretty good, Lindsey. But you’re right–the price is a bit steep.
