David BlatnerKeymasterThis sounds more like a printer driver problem, not InDesign. Try clicking Printer in the print dialog box to ensure that your driver settings are right. Weird!
David BlatnerKeymasterI think you're mixing up two things: There's 2-up windows (such as you get from the Arrange menu in the application bar, or if you choose window > arrange > tile), and split window (new in cs6). Split window always splits the window and shows the current document in both panes.
David BlatnerKeymasterCool! That's a feature called the “never saw that before” effect. :)
Pasteboard problems have been around for years. I would suggest exporting the file as IDML (or INX, in cs3) and then opening that file to see if the corruption goes away.
David BlatnerKeymasterI'm trying to understand this, too… perhaps you mean the dotted lines that go around interactive objects when you click on them. That is the “focus” rectangle, and it cannot be turned off by you.
(Sandee Cohen discovered recently that you can turn it off on your own computer by deselecting “Show focus rectangle” in the Forms pane of the Acrobat Preferences dialog box. But you as the publisher of the PDF cannot turn on/off preferences one someone else's copy of Acrobat.)
I hate that focus rectangle in Acrobat; definitely makes the interactive PDF look unprofessional. Sigh.
David BlatnerKeymasterThis should help:
David BlatnerKeymasterIt's a great question. Sorry, but I've never heard of a MusicXML import filter for InDesign.
I think InDesign just wouldn't be able to handle the notation very well.

David BlatnerKeymasterYou are saying that it works in CS4, but not CS5?
It sounds like it could be text wrap. Or check to see if the text has Align (lock) to Baseline Grid enabled.
David BlatnerKeymasterSounds like you need Soxy from rorohiko.com!
David BlatnerKeymasterI have used it in demos, but honestly haven't really needed to use it in a real life situation, so I've kept quiet about it. When I've tried it for Word docs, it was very impressive! But isn't there a demo version of it? Try it out and let us know what you think!
David BlatnerKeymasterI'm glad you're finding Blatner Tools useful! Yes, I believe it has been updated to CS6, though you'll need to download the new installer from https://blatnertools.com and reinstall it for CS6. (Plug-ins always need to be updated for new versions.)
Thanks!

David BlatnerKeymasterBecause you're looking for Garamond Premier Pro. The regular Pro font doesn't have all those characters. Check it out:
https://www.adobe.com/type/browser/landing/garamond/garamond.html
There are also lots of other garamond cyrillic fonts on the web.
As for stylistic sets, we talk about them in podcast 164: https://creativepro.com/indesignsecrets-podcast-164.php

David BlatnerKeymaster#1: You do it in the same way as every earlier version: the paragraph styles panel. Not sure what the problem is there.
#2: Use File > Export, then choose PDF (Print). That's the best way to get PDF out of InDesign.
You don't want to use Distiller in most modern workflows: https://creativepro.com/cre…..tiller.php
If you absolutely have to get PostScript, you can slog through the comments here: https://creativepro.com/acr…..eopard.php
June 6, 2012 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Acrobat Fillable Forms–Reader Extended Documents from ID CS6 questions #62357
David BlatnerKeymasterRead page 2 of this explanation from Adobe:
https://www.adobe.com/aboutadob…..policy.pdf
It says very clearly, in an example (in the “Interpretation” section):
“For example, a company hosts a free webinar about its products for the general public. After the webinar, it sends a Reader Extended product survey PDF form to thousands of attendees. An Acrobat license allows the company to extract information from up to, but not more than, 500 surveys, regardless of the number of completed surveys the company receives.”
So, you can send out unlimited PDFS, but you may only collect information (for each survey) from up to 500 people. Each survey can be the same or different 500 people.
David BlatnerKeymasterOur friend Marijan Tompa answered: “Tick off 'Show Single Plates in Black' under Separations Preview panel menu.”
YES!
Now, why ID would display “black” as “black” any differently than “black” is still kind of weird, but at least we're one step closer to understanding.
David BlatnerKeymasterWell, Alan, it was good to see you at pepcon… you must have been inspired because now you win a prize… I don't know what it is… maybe a swift kick in the behind! ;)
I have tried it, and can reproduce it perfectly. It happens in CS5.5, too, so it's not new.
Is not affected by appearance of black, proof colors, and a half-dozen other things I tried. It even does it when I apply a new 100%K swatch to the image (instead of using [Black] )
I will inquire. I agree that it's not likely a problem, but it's a great mystery!
