David BlatnerKeymasterI’ve never heard of something like this, but I believe it could be done.
David BlatnerKeymasterSo it happens with all new documents, too.
Does it matter if you use the Edit menu vs. keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste?
What happens if you cut and paste instead?
What happens if you option/alt-drag the object to duplicate it instead? You’re saying you did rebuild your application preferences?
David BlatnerKeymasterWEIRD!
When you paste, does the frame and the image scale? Or does just the image inside the frame change?
David BlatnerKeymasterWhat is the syntax error?
I assume you’re using straight quotes in your text file, not curly ones (I think our forum converts them to curly here?)
Did you try using the script mentioned here: https://creativepro.com/find-change-scripting-goodness.php
David BlatnerKeymasterThere are several options; for example, see this post and the comments that follow it:
https://creativepro.com/create-a-list-of-linked-files.php
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, typekit fonts are just like normal fonts and the glyphs panel works fine with them.
David BlatnerKeymasterGreat question, Bob. No, I’ve never seen a way to do that. Too bad, as the captions dialog box really needs a way to save sets.
David BlatnerKeymasterI would suggest doing it as a bunch of threaded frames from one page to the next, kind of like this:

David BlatnerKeymasterYes, keeping styles and swatches (and even other elements, like master page design) in sync is a great use for the book feature. I recommend turning off the Automatically Renumber feature, as we wrote up here:

David BlatnerKeymasterUnfortunately, there is no automatic way to do this. I have seen scripts that can make the change (you run the script and it changes all instances of text in a particular paragraph style to the case you want). But generally, I suggest you assign a keyboard shortcut to the Sentence Case feature and then you can apply it very quickly.
David BlatnerKeymasterIn Japanese, sometimes people don’t know what a particular kanji character is (perhaps because it’s a rare one) so they don’t know how to pronounce it. Rubi is little tiny characters in the phonetic “alphabet” of hiragana that are stuck to the side of the main character.
For example, look at the tiny little characters above some of the text here:
https://www.aozora.gr.jp/cards/000148/files/773_14560.htmlUnfortunately, the US version of InDesign doesn’t offer them, unless you have the World Tools plug-in (in-tools.com). So I’m not sure how you would search for them. I would have assumed there was a feature in the Find/Change dialog box for this. No?
What kind of formatting do you want to change?
David BlatnerKeymasterOr another Rorohiko option:

David BlatnerKeymasterActually, the Last Page Number text variable by default (I think) is the “last number in the section.” So you could use the Section feature to set up a new section for each article. That should do it. If not, you could use the x-refs trick (in the link above) to create a cross-reference to a paragraph or text anchor on the last page of the article.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou need the last page number text variable:
https://creativepro.com/dude-whats-page.phpUnless you’re using a book panel, in which case you need x-refs:
https://creativepro.com/type-the-page-number-book.php
David BlatnerKeymasterThere are a couple ways to do it, including:

and
