Have you tried rebuilding your preferences file? https://creativepro.com/resources/faq
Every document or just one or some? Any computer you try it on? That sounds strange to me!
Do you then need to bring that data back into InDesign?
It’s not an easy task, but it is possible. You may just have to copy and paste, though.
Alternatively, the WordsFlow product from em software may be able to help: https://emsoftware.com/products/wordsflow/
Word and InDesign are very different, and there are many things Word can do that ID cannot (and vice versa). It is not helpful to compare them.
If you want the 2nd table indented, I suggest using a Left Indent setting on the paragraph that the table is in.
Do you mean the “What’s New” dialog box? There is a “Don’t Show Again” checkbox at the bottom-left corner. Yes?
Oh, I understand better now. It’s not the settings in the Print dialog box that are getting lost, it is the printer driver settings (the options you get when you click Printer or Setup at the bottom of the Print dialog box). I don’t know if InDesign is able to read those, as they are controls in the printer driver. InDesign doesn’t really control the driver dialog box very well.
In the New Document dialog box, you can turn on the Facing Pages checkbox, and then adjust the Inside margin.
I’m surprised that InDesign isn’t migrating those automatically for you. That’s one of the new features in CC — “seamless update”
That is really strange! You’re right: there is no KBSC available for that feature. Unusual.
It is very hard to know. Maybe you have placed a PDF 1.3 file into your InDesign document? Did you check Ink Manager and Separations Preview to ensure you do not have any spot colors?
