David BlatnerKeymasterIf you select two objects, you have made a temporary group, so you cannot resize a single item in there, I think.

David BlatnerKeymasterYes, it is certainly doable with scripting. In fact, check these out:

David BlatnerKeymasterWell that is what the PDF Presets are for… the only thing you cannot save in a PDF preset is the page range, I think.
David BlatnerKeymasterIf you export the document as IDML (file > export) and then open that IDML file, what does it look like?
David BlatnerKeymasterYou could talk to these folks: https://atomicnewstools.com
David BlatnerKeymasterThis usually happens when you import jpg images directly from a digital camera, where the images were saved as 72 ppi and — if placed at normal size — would be far too large to fit on the page. InDesign scales them down automatically.
David BlatnerKeymasterHave you rebuilt your InDesign preferences yet?
David BlatnerKeymasterJust to be clear, they are continuing Single Edition… they’re just not going to include it in Creative Cloud subscriptions or as a standalone purchase anymore.
I posted most of my first thoughts here and in the comments:
https://creativepro.com/adobe-drops-dps-se-support-creative-cloud.phpThere’s no doubt it’s frustrating, but I think given the market it’s understandable. As Adobe’s senior evangelist said recently, he knows people who are using DPS SE from the Creative Cloud… but he can count them on 2 hands.
David BlatnerKeymasterThat doesn’t happen to me. In InDesign CC 2014, when I place a snippet, it loses its old formatting and takes on the formatting of the new document’s object style.
I wonder if the object had local formatting when you made the snippet?
David BlatnerKeymasterYes, if the “rich black” in the Photoshop image is 40/0/0/100 then yes, it could be a little bit of a “blue black” (the black could appear a little blue. But if it is the image, you will need to find someone who can open the image in Photoshop and change the black in that program. InDesign cannot change that.
David BlatnerKeymasterIt would probably be more useful if you got more information from the printer. They may be able to help you understand their concern — for example, is it the image or the InDesign file that is the problem?
David BlatnerKeymasterIt’s hard to know what the printer means. It could be that you’re using an RGB black? That is probably not good. Or the Registration color? (Do NOT use Registration for normal color. That is 100% of every color, which is too much ink.)
It looks like you are using two kinds of black… a very dark black and a lighter black..?
Here is something on rich black:

David BlatnerKeymasterWhile I agree that doing layout in InDesign is superior to Pshop, you have uncovered an unhappy truth:
InDesign assumes that 72 pixels per inch, but Photoshop does not. So InDesign is actually more accurate from a print perspective.
For example, when I create a document that is 8.5 inches wide, and zoom to 100% in InDesign, it is 8.5 inches on my screen. If I create a 300×250 px document, it is 4.16 inches wide on screen — which is correct, if you assume 72 ppi.
However, Photoshop is displaying images at about 108 ppi on my screen. (It seems to ignore the display ppi setting in its own Preferences dialog box, strangely.)So which is “right”? As Alan pointed out: neither of them, because the same 300×250 image will be displayed on different screens at different resolutions.
That said, i totally agree that it would be nice if we could easily make InDesign and Photoshop match. On my screen that happens when I set InDesign to 70% view. Yes, you should be able to use the script to make Cmd-1 go there.
