David BlatnerKeymasterHarison: There is no perspective tool in InDesign at this time, unfortunately. You can “fake” it with this trick https://creativepro.com/gravity-is-fixed.php
David BlatnerKeymasterThat is fascinating and odd. However, I doubt that it is the OS. My guess is that InDesign is confused or lost something. Have you tried rebuilding your preferences in InDesign?
David BlatnerKeymaster
David BlatnerKeymasterYou might need to set the First Baseline Offset (in Text Frame Options) to Leading instead of Ascender.
David BlatnerKeymasterI don’t think that’s possible with the built-in feature, but you can get it with this plug-in: https://in-tools.com/products/plugins/power-headers/
When you think of how much time it saves, buying a little plug-in like this makes a lot of sense.
David BlatnerKeymasterJust to be clear, is this an InDesign plug-in?
David BlatnerKeymasterInDesign’s running header feature is not the strongest. For many people (especially if you have heads that are tricky or require 2 or more lines) I recommend Power Headers https://in-tools.com/products/plugins/power-headers/
David BlatnerKeymasterYou might take a look at Page Zephyr: https://creativepro.com/pr-markzware-pagezephyr-allows-searching-and-converting-in-indesign-files.php
David BlatnerKeymasterIf you just need good quality images, I wonder if it would be better to “save as and optimize” to a different format, such as PDF/X4. Then import those into InDesign instead of the PDF with full CAD/3D images.
David BlatnerKeymasterDifference in InDesign between viewing with View > Display Performance > Typical vs. High? I assume it is only slow when you have it set to High? When it is set to Typical, it should be just a low-res preview.
David BlatnerKeymasterYou could probably use this script somehow: https://creativepro.com/free-script-to-change-all-numbers-in-a-document-using-math.php
For example, the script lets you target numbers in various ways, including with a grep expression, so you could find numbers that are immediately preceded by a letter in the text.
David BlatnerKeymasterPaula, it sounds to me like you want to make a PDF with the crop marks and then print that PDF. But why do you not just print from InDesign? Why make the PDF first?
It is not practical to make a PDF and then print the PDF. That is an extra step that is not necessary. You can print the booklet directly from InDesign as a booklet with crop marks.
David BlatnerKeymaster“Freshness” is just when the latest reply was made. I see your thread, and it was bumped to the top just as expected.
David BlatnerKeymasterAmy, I see you wrote this on a blog post comment, too. There I suggested that you take a look at these articles:
