David BlatnerKeymasterYes, I believe this is a limitation of the iOS web browser… I think autoplay is disabled by default.
“Currently, WebKit policies require a user gestures, like a tap or touch, to play media in video and audio elements in Safari for iOS”

David BlatnerKeymasterCool idea for an article!
One option to speed up editing might be to use the Linked Text feature… hm…
David BlatnerKeymasterOther questions: only this one document, or all docs? Could it be hyperlinks? Is Type > Hidden Characters on or off?
If you export to IDML and then open the IDML, does it go away?

David BlatnerKeymasterThat is very strange that the logo is not working if it is linked properly in the Links panel. If you export to PDF, does it look correct in the PDF file?
As for the business card design, my suggestions are: make the logo a little bit bigger so we can see it and read the text under it at the business card size. Also, you should move the name Matthew in from the side of the card a little bit (it is too close). And, I think it would be helpful if the phone number were in the lower right and the name “Matthew” were moved to the left, so that it “reads” left to right. Currently, the reader has to read it “backward” — the eye doesn’t like moving right-to-left (except in languages like Arabic or Hebrew).
David BlatnerKeymasterKai, that is a great point: A script is usually much more precise/accurate than a human. :-)
Also, you can use the script many times, making small changes when necessary, so it is a good investment. We really appreciate your “giving back” to the community!
David BlatnerKeymasterHi Mathew, are you looking for technical help here, or design suggestions?
When I saw the card, I immediately understood what your email is. Clever!
But the logo should not look so bad. My guess is that perhaps the logo was not linked properly in the Links panel? Maybe it is modified or missing there?
David BlatnerKeymasterThank you, Kai! That was really nice that you wrote that. (I wrote my reply before I saw your script. We must have been typing at about the same time.)
My comment was simply that a lot of people spend a lot of time thinking “I wish I had a script” but when you think about it, it might cost $50 or $200 to have someone write a script, vs hiring someone for $20/hour to work for 2 hours on it. :-)
I wish we had a “donate” button here, so that people could click to donate $25 or $50 to the script writer. Maybe we should explore how to do that.
David BlatnerKeymasterI’m sure this is scriptable. For example, you could create a script that does it to one document, and then use Peter Kahrel’s Batch Convert script or something like it.
But if would take about 1 minute to open each file, change the setting, save it, and close it, right? Maybe 1.5 minutes. For 60 files, that means the change would take 90 minutes.
David BlatnerKeymasterSounds like you need Cross-References! (See the cross-references panel.) More here: https://creativepro.com/tag/cross-references
David BlatnerKeymasterVic, Peter’s script is usually what we recommend. I haven’t run into the problem you’re having. I’ll have to check that out.
In the meantime, you can find Miguel’s script here: https://creativepro.com/downloads/Footnotes2Endnotes_v23.zip -
