It looks like the forum code messed up the script, it replaced two dashes with an emdash!
I went to the original forum post (thank you for posting that!) and copied it from there, saved it as a javascript, tested in CC2014 … it works great.
You can download the RemoveUnusedStyles.jsx script from here:

This sounds like a showstopper to me, unfortunately. I’ve found that few CMS and DAM manufacturers understand InDesign (and InCopy).
When you Place, you can use the Shift key to show the Options dialog box if you forgot to turn on the Show Options checkbox. Have you tried that when dragging? Maybe a friendly engineer included that feature.

I tried it a while ago, they were pretty good, the questions were similar to the style the ACE used. The company’s been around a long time, too, which is a good sign.

well that’s interesting
InDesign does use pixels as a unit, has for some time now. Not sure if it does in CS5 though.
If it doesn’t, switch to points, which is functionally the same, 72 pts = 72 pixels = 1 inch.
Gabor, are your Photoshop files 2380 x 1664? That is very large (filesize) for something that will need to be downloaded onto a mobile device. I would consider downsampling and sharpening before bringing into InDesign, and then adding live text in InDesign.

Remy have you tried opening the same PDF in Acro 10? (Or any earlier version of Acro or even Reader 9, 10 or XI?) … just to see if there’s something glitchy w/Acro XI.
FWIW I have not had that prob, running all the same versions you describe.

Do you see the glyphs for the speech marks (quote marks) in the Glyphs panel, when viewing the glyphs for your font?
