Typography Playing Cards
If you’re pondering what to get your favorite type nerd for the holidays, you have plenty of great choices this year. Of course there’s the motherlode of typography t-shirts unearthed by Pariah Burke (check out both part 1 and part 2 of the list).

Also, hot off the presses is the CreativePro Book of theWeek, The Anatomy of Type: A Graphic Guide to 100 Typefaces by Stephen Coles and Tony Seddon.

And if you want something truly unique, check out Graphos Playing Cards.

These decks of cards were created by Michelle Lam, a graphic designer from Vancouver, to inspire and educate both designers and lay people about typography. If you’re not already a type addict, a deck of these cards could very well make you one.

Here’s the description of the cards from Etsy, where you can can purchase a deck for $28 CAD:
Each card from the deck of Graphos Playing Cards will tell the unique story of a specific area of focus in typography. All spades highlight on the importance of “anatomy”; hearts on “classificiation”; clubs on “glyphs”; diamonds on “type setting”. Fonts are focused on sans serif, serif, script and decorative.
This is definitely a collectible for typography lovers. It’s not only beautiful to look at, but also functional. Each card indicates the font used in case you are wondering what it is and want to use it for your next design project.
